Young filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj's second anthology "Aviyal," which is a collection of five short films, released Friday, March 11. The movie features Nivin Pauly and Bobby Simha in the key roles and the remaining cast members are newcomers.
Amrutha Srinivasan is the only female lead in the Tamil flick. Rohit Nandakumar, Arjunan Nandakumar, Sharath Kumar, Deepak Paramesh, Sudhangan, Naveen George Thomas, Moses Rajkumar, Sharath Kumar, Ramachandran and Praveen Kumar are also part of the project.
Alphonse Puthren of "Premam" fame, Shammeer Sultan, Mohit Mehra, Lokesh Kanagaraj and Guru Smaran have joined hands to direct "Aviyal." The Tamil movie tells five different stories written by each of them.
Anil Krishnan is the main editor of the movie and a host of cameramen have handled the cinematography department. Raghu Dixit, Rajesh Murugesan, Vishal Chandrashekhar, Javed Riaz and Shammer Sultan have scored music for the flick.
The trailer of "Aviyal" was an instant hit among the netizens. This factor played a major role in helping the movie get a big release.
Karthik Subbaraj's first anthology "Bench Talkies" had released in only seven screens, but his latest "Aviyal" is seeing light of the day in 115 screens. This clearly shows the buzz around the latest flick.
