Fans were left in shock within the first 10 minutes of Avengers: Infinity War as they witnessed Loki die in the hands of Thanos. However, a slew of leaked photos hints that the God of Mischief is set to return in Avengers 4. How? That's a question the Russo Brothers will want to reveal in May next year.
While the leaked photos hint that time travel could bring back Thor's brother, a new fan theory based on leaked set photos speculates that Thor: Ragnarok villain Hela would help Thor bring Loki back to life.
According to Express UK, Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson and a model of Rocket Raccoon were spotted on a set at Durham Cathedral in May 2017. Hela actress Cate Blanchett was also seen in the filming location. Now, as we know that the two actresses were not seen in Infinity War, there is a chance that the scene was shot for Avengers 4.
The set up led to a Reddit user speculating the theory that Thor, Rocket, Valkyrie and Hela are in the church, which was seen in the God of Thunder's nightmare vision in Age of Ultron.
The theory goes like this:
"I propose that the reason Thor, Rocket, Valkyrie, and Hela are all there at the church once more is to gain access to the cave that Thor used in Age of Ultron with Erik Selvig.
To use it in some way to allow Thor to travel to Hel and confront Hela who is trapped or residing down there once more after her defeat in Thor Ragnarok to help him bring their brother Loki back from the dead."

The online user explains that he concluded to this theory after Mark Ruffalo mentioned Blanchett and Tilda Swinton, mentor to Doctor Strange Mordo, in a "I Am Rapapart" podcast. While we know that the actor crossed paths with Blanchett in Thor: Ragnarok, the actor hasn't crossed paths with Tilda. His character met Doctor Strange only post the Hulk-Thanos face-off in Infinity War.
Fans will have to wait until May 3, 2019, for Avengers 4 to release and find out how far the theory comes true.
