Japanese car maker Suzuki brought its S-Cross to the ongoing 16th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition.
S-Cross, which is expected to make its India debut this year, is already being sold in select countries. Modelled on SX4, the S-Cross crossover is available in Europe with a 1.6-litre petrol engine, which can churn out 120PS peak power and 156Nm peak torque and 1.6 litre MultiJet engine, capable of generating 120PS and 320Nm torque.
In terms of dimensions, SX4 S-Cross measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width, 1,575 in height and comes seated on a wheelbase of 2,600 mm.
Although the launch date of the new SX4 S-cross has not been confirmed, reports indicate that the model will be introduced in May.
Coming to the India-specific model, the engine line-up is likely to include 1.6-litre diesel engine, which can churn out a power of 118bhp with a peak torque of 32kgm and the transmission is likely to come from a six-speed manual gearbox. SX4 S-Cross will take on the likes of Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport and Nissan Terrano in India.
As for features, the model is expected to get projector headlamps and Daytime Running LEDs, and 16-inch alloy wheels, scuff plates and black-cladding, and from what we have heard, the crossover will be named 'Across' in India.
