There are only a couple of days before the gates of India's biggest biennial auto show — the Auto Expo 2018 — open for auto enthusiasts across the country. Automakers are busy giving final touches to their line-up for the show and the rumour mills seem to be even busier.
Tata is expected to have a slew of models — from the new hatchback X451 to the AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) avatar of the Nexon — on display at the upcoming show. Although the company has not revealed any details about the Nexon AMT, rumours are rife that the compact SUV will get AMT in both the petrol and diesel model.

According to a leak reported by IndianAutosblog, the Nexon AMT will get the Creep function and the kickdown feature. While the Creep function in the Nexon AMT will help the SUV move at a slow pace when in traffic, the kickdown feature will shift the gear down when the driver pushes the car's accelerator to the floor.
Nexon will continue to be offered with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine from the Revotron series and a 1.5-litre diesel engine from the Revotorq series.
The 1,198cc three-cylinder petrol mill develops 108.5bhp at 5,000rpm and 170Nm of torque at 2,000-4,000rpm. The 1,496cc four-cylinder diesel mill churns out 108.5bhp at 3,750rpm and 260Nm of torque at 1,500-2,750rpm.
In AMT, the compact SUV will get six-speed AMT that is likely to be offered in the mid-range XTA and top-end XZA models.

The company already offers AMT options in the Tiago, Nano, Zest and Tigor models. Apart from the addition of the AMT box, the Nexon compact SUV will not have any other changes in the new model. Tata is also likely to announce the sales of the Nexon AMT at the Auto Expo.
The 14th edition of the Auto Expo will be held between February 9 and 14.
