India's biggest auto carnival -- the Auto Expo 2016 -- kick-started in Delhi on 2 February and will run until Tuesday, 9 February, at Greater Noida. The auto makers around the world brought their future and latest production and concept cars to the show to take the stage.
Tata Motors, which has one of the biggest pavilions at the auto show, unveiled a range of models from the new soon-to-be-launched Zica hatchback to the Nexon compact SUV. Among all the passenger cars of Tata showcased at the Auto Expo 2016, one that definitely caught the auto enthusiasts' eye is the company's upcoming Zica-based compact sedan Kite 5.
The all-new Kite 5, a compact sedan, which was globally showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 for the first time embodies Tata's new design language Impact. The Kite 5 will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. While the the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine will churn out 83.8bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and 114Nm of torque at 3,500rpm, the diesel power for the Kite 5 comes from an all-new, 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo-charged engine. Both engines will be available with multi-drive modes – Eco and City.
From a visual standpoint, Kite 5 flaunts chrome Humanity Line at the front that extends into the dual chamber headlamps, LED tail lamps and bold shoulder lines. The Kite 5 also gets integrated roof spoiler. On the safety front, Kite 5 houses dual airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Corner Stability Control (CSC).
It is possible that the Kite 5 compact sedan will make its market debut in the second half of the year.
