Auto makers in India are gearing up for India's biggest auto biennial event Auto Expo 2016. While we already have an idea of what car makers like Maruti Suzuki, Mercedes-Benz and General Motors will be bringing to the biggest auto carnival, the latest is that Tata Motors will add colour to the Auto Expo with 25 products on display.
A report of ET Auto reveals that Tata Motors' pavilion at the Auto Expo 2016 will have more than 25 products including concept models and commercial vehicles. The company, which is aiming to increase its market share in both passenger and commercial segments, is expected to go on a product blitzkrieg in 2016.
In the passenger vehicle segment, Tata is expected to bring its soon-to-be-launched Zica hatchback along with the Kite compact sedan, Hexa crossover and Nexon compact SUV. Tata will also have new Signa range of trucks on display. While Zica hatchback is likely to be launched by mid-February this year, other models like compact sedan and Hexa are expected later in the year. Tata Nexon is speculated to join Tata's India-portfolio by early 2017. All the said passenger cars, except Zica, are currently in their testing phase in the country.
From Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover end, the all-new XE sedan and the F-Pace MPV will be on display and both the vehicles will go on sale in India this year. The XE will be the most affordable Jaguar product in India when launched, with an estimated price of around Rs 40 lakh.
The 13th edition Auto Expo has been scheduled from 5 February (Friday) to 9 February (Tuesday) and is expected to witness a daily average footfall of 1 lakh.
