NEW DELHI -- Ace Indian cricketer was the star attraction before the final whistle of the first day at Auto Expo 2016. The brand ambassador of the BMW India, Sachin Tendulkar unveiled the new BMW 7 Series and the BMW X1 at the last press conference of the day.
Priced between Rs 1.1 crore-1.5 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new BMW 7 Series sedan is based on the all-new Cluster Architecture (CLAR) Rear Wheel Drive platform. The new 7 Series is available in two diesel variants – the BMW 730Ld Design Pure Excellence and the M Sport -- which are locally produced. The Design Pure Excellence model is also available as a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU). BMW 7 Series is also available in two petrol variants –750Li Design Pure Excellence and the M Sport, Both will be sold as CBU. The flagship sedan of BMW boasts of features such as gesture control, remote control parking, touch command system, wireless charging and sky lounge.
The new BMW X1 is priced in the range of Rs 29.9 lakh to Rs 39.9 lakh and is available in three trims: Expedition, xLine and M Sport. The new BMW X1 is locally produced at BMW's plant in Chennai and its booking opened on 3 February, 2016. Deliveries of the new X1 will start from April 2016. The X1 is powered by 1,995cc four-cylinder diesel engine that develops 188bhp and 400Nm of torque mated to eight-speed steptronic automatic transmission.
