NEW DELHI -- Datsun has unveiled its highly-anticipated Go-Cross concept at the ongoing 13th edition of the Auto Expo 2016 in Delhi.
Go-Cross, Datsun's third offering that is based on its GO hatchback platform was first showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show 2015. In India, Datsun Go-Cross is expected to go on sale in 2017 and will rival Fiat Avventura, Hyundai Active i20 and Toyota Etios Cross.
From a visual stand point, Datsun GO-Cross get a hexagonal grille in line with other Datsun models, finished in black. The model, which is likely to boast a less boxy rear design compared to the GO+ MPV, also shows LED strips inside the taillamp cluster. The other features include larger alloy wheels, roof rails and a roof-mounted spoiler. On the design front of the GO-Cross, it is expected to get a higher ground clearance with skid plates in the front, rear and sides.
Datsun GO-Cross is expected to be offered in both five-seater and seven-seater versions. At the heart of Go-Cross that made its debut at the Auto Expo is the 1.2-litre three-cylinder DOHC 12-valve motor that does duty in Go and Go+.
