BMW's highly anticipated G 310 R has made its India debut on Thursday, 4 February, at the India's biggest auto carnival — Auto Expo 2016 in Delhi.
BMW G 310 R, developed jointly by Indo-German alliance BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor Company, is the first product of BMW to be to be manufactured outside Europe. The G 310 R will be made in India at the TVS Motor Company's production facility.
Although the company did not divulge India launch details, BMW G 310 , the German bikemaker's smallest-capacity motorcycle is expected to make its market entry this year.
Built on a steel trellis frame, BMW G 310 R will be powered by the all-new 313cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with four valves and two overhead camshafts, together with electronic fuel injection. It develops an output of 33.5bhp at 9,500rpm, and maximum torque of 28Nm at 7,500rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox. It also has a backward-tilted cylinder in open-deck design, with the cylinder head turned 180 degrees.
TVS-BMW G 310 R is expected to get a price tag of under Rs 2 lakh in India when launched later this year.
