Maruti Suzuki, India's largest passenger car maker, is likely to showcase the facelifted model of its best selling Swift hatchback at the upcoming Auto Expo 2014.
According to the latest buzz in the auto market, Maruti is readying its Swift facelift to showcase at the Auto Expo. The 2014 Swift facelift, which was first seen in July this year, sports only minor changes from the original Swift design. The changes in the exterior design include a high-mounted LED stoplight and a new Boost Blue Metallic colour. The car, which is powered by the same 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine and 1.3-Litre DDIS diesel engine, packs redesigned seat fabrics and six airbags.
Swift has been selling in the domestic market with tremendous sales records since its launch. According to the company, the Swift and Dzire models contribute to over 40-50 percent of the company's total sales. However, the car is on a dangerous ground as the competition in this segment intensifies. The Swift has lost its hot-seller tag recently to Honda Amaze. If rumours are to be believed, Maruti's facelifted Swift will appear at the 2014 Auto Expo to regain its losing charm in the sub-continent market.
The biennial event will take place at Greater Noida from 6-12 February, and the extravaganza will witness the unveiling of all kinds of cars; from small to ultra-luxury. Maruti is also expected to showcase its highly anticipated Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) XA Alpha, along with its A-Wind Concept car and the replacement of SX4.
