Author George RR Martin has shared his excitement over the release of "The Interview" on Christmas Day through his blog.
"Exciting news this morning. Sony has announced that it will show THE INTERVIEW on Christmas Day at 'selected theatres," wrote the creator of "A Song of Ice and Fire."
Martin also informed his followers that he will be among the first ones to watch the movie at Jean-Cocteau Theater in New Mexico. As per "Not A Blog", the "Game of Throne" author's one-screen art-house theatre will run "The Interview" four times on Christmas Day and could probably continue for next two weeks.
When Sony Pictures decided to cancel the release of the film earlier due to cyber attack, Martin expressed his wrath on his blog, reported Kpopstarz.
"The level of corporate cowardice here astonishes me. Whether it's the next CITIZEN KANE or the next PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE, it astonishes me that a major Hollywood film could be killed before release by threats from a foreign power and anonymous hackers," he wrote.
"The Winds of Winter" author also made efforts to find out the number of theatre authorities who are willing to screen "The Interview." According to the writer, hundreds of owners and operators are glad to screen the movie with the permission of Sony Pictures.
The film, directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, revolves around two journalists who plan to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Besides Rogen, James Franco, Lizzy Caplan and Randall Park are also playing lead roles in "The Interview."
