Bollywood fans are in for a treat this month with the release of "Chennai Express" on 9 August. Moreover, several other films featuring A-list actors are expected to hit the screens, raising expectations of higher box office ratings and a larger audience count.
Starting from the Eid festival, big-budget films of the year will be released every week. More than ₹400 crore are riding high on multiple releases in this month alone, according to Hindustan Times.

Chennai Express: The much-anticipated film, featuring Shah Rukh and Deepika, is an action-packed romantic comedy directed by Rohit Shetty. The rom-com, which is about a 40-year-old man who falls in love with a Tamil girl, is made on a budget of ₹90 crore.
15 August
Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara!: "OUATIMD" is a sequel to 2010 film of the same name. The gangster saga is directed by Milan Luthria and features Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Sonali Bendre and Imraan Khan in lead roles. The film, with a production cost of ₹85 crore, was initially due for release on Eid. However, the makers postponed it.

Madras Café: The film is a political and spy thriller featuring John Abraham and Nargis Fakri in the lead roles. The film is directed by Shoojit Sircar and focuses on the subject of terrorism. It has been jointly produced by John and Ronnie Lahiri on a budget of ₹35 crore.
Aman ki Asha: This romantic film directed by Eeshwar Nivas features Ali Zafar and Yami Gautam as the lead stars. It is releasing along with "Madras Café".

Satyagraha: Prakash Jha's directorial political thriller stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai, Amrita Rao and Vipin Sharma in important characters. The production cost of the film is around ₹75 crore.
