German luxury car-maker Audi is reportedly planning to bring the new SQ7 to India during the festive season this year. The SQ7, the more powerful version of Q7, is likely to be launched around Diwali, reports AutoCar India.
The SQ7, which is claimed to be the most powerful diesel SUV in the market, is likely to get a price tag of about Rs. 1 crore in India. Audi SQ7 is the first car to feature an electric-powered compressor (EPC), which augments the work of the two turbochargers, particularly in the lower-engine-speed range.
Powering the SQ7 is a 3,956cc V8 twin-turbo diesel engine that develops 429bhp and 900Nm of torque between 1,000 and 3,250rpm. The V8 engine is coupled with eight-speed tiptronic transmission and the power is transmitted to the all wheels via a quattro all-wheel drive system working with a self-locking central differential. The SQ7 accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds and can attain a top speed of 250 kmph.
As for features, the SQ7 comes with Alcantara leather-upholstered sport seats, an electromechanical power steering, adaptive air suspension with S-specific tuning and a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with paddle shifters. Other features include side air inlets, the mirror housings and door inlays in standard aluminium and quad rectangular exhaust pipes.
Recent reports had said Audi has already brought SQ7 to India for homologation.
