German luxury car-maker Audi is planning something big for India next year. The company, which launched its A3 Cabriolet in the country on Thursday, said it is planning to launch about 10 new models in India by 2015.
"Next year we plan to launch around ten products in the Indian market. It is going to be an exciting and busy year for us," Audi India Head Joe King told PTI.
Audi, which is looking to expand its foothold in the domestic market, will be launching new variants of its existing models in the country as well as the luxury car maker will also be entering into new segments in India .
Apart from the new launches, Audi is also planning to bring more investment into the country.
"We are looking to bring in next round of investments into the country, keeping in mind the immense long term potential of the Indian market," King added.
Audi India currently sells Audi A3, Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A7 Sportback, new Audi A8L, Audi Q3 S, Audi Q3, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi S4, Audi S6, Audi RS 5 Coupé, Audi RS 7 Sportback, Audi TT Coupé, the super sports car Audi R8, Audi R8 Spyder and the Audi R8 V10 plus.
Amongst this, Audi A3 is the cheapest offering of the car maker in India and the A3 sedan is also the first car from the German maker to be produced locally before its launch in the country. The models like A6, A4, Q5, Q7 and Q3 were brought as completely built units (CBUs) initially and are now manufactured in India.
On Thursday, Audi announced the launch of its A3 Cabriolet in the country at a price point of ₹44.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The car, which is now available for booking in the country, comes with 40TFSI 1.8-litre petrol engine under the hood that can churn out 180PS of power and a peak torque of 250Nm. The engine comes mated to seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
