It seems that the fans of renowned anime series "Attack on Titan" (originally known as "Shingeki no Kyojin") will have to wait more as the premiere of the second season has been postponed to an unspecified date.
As reported by Movie Pilot, the delay has occurred due to lack of further story arcs in the original manga version that are needed to continue with the anime's story. Season 2 of "Attack on Titan" requires new plot stories adapted from the manga in order to continue.
Several fans and critics believe that the immense success of "Attack on Titan" anime can be credited to the fact that the anime always followed the story-lines of manga closely, hence making sure that the fans of the series get original content to watch.
The flow of anime series has been organised and connected perfectly and the first season met with critical acclaim. Therefore, the creators of the series are under more pressure to deliver Season 2 as well as the previous season.
The creator of the original "Attack on Titan" manga series, Hajime Isayama and director of anime series, Tetsuro Aaraki, have stated that the manga must continue to be four story arcs ahead of the series.
Currently, the manga is only two story arcs ahead of the anime series and Aaraki has confirmed that Season 2 cannot be completed before the other two arcs of the series are finished as it will disturb the continuity of the anime series.
Even though fans might be disappointed by the news, they are satisfied that any element of Season 2 won't be compromised in terms of quality. According to Design Trend, the identity of armoured titan and colossal titan will be revealed in the upcoming season.
The website has mentioned that both the mysterious titans might have a close association with Eren Yeager, the protagonist of the series. Meanwhile, the website has also hinted that some of the prominent characters of the series might die in the upcoming season, including the Survey Corps soldier Levi Ackerman.
