The next instalment of popular anime series "Attack on Titan" is still not in sight. After being delayed for several times previously, recent reports state that Season 2 of the manga has been delayed again and will now air in January 2017 instead of the second quarter of 2016.
According to Crunchyroll, Spanish streaming and home video distributor SelectaVisión has stated that the 2016 time-frame for the anime is not happening anymore.
As reported by Parent Herald, Kodansha, a member of anime production committee and "Attack on Titan" manga publisher, has confirmed that the next season won't debut this year.
Though fans might have to wait a little longer before the second season arrives, there are plenty of other "Attack on Titan" material they can go through, like Captain Levi's prequel anime titled "Attack on Titan: No Regrets."
Latin Times has reported that the next season will feature the errands of Reiss family. According to the website, it will be revealed that the Reiss family possesses powers very similar to that of Eren's: Shape-shifting into the colossal Titans. Season 2 will explore the adventures of the family's members.
The political conditions will also be explored in Season 2 of "Attack on Titan." The prominent characters will uncover a government conspiracy that might hint at a deal between the government and the Titans. Apart from it, the real identity of several characters will also be revealed in next season.
The "Attack on Titan" anime is being produced by Wit Studio and is based on Hajime Isayama's bestselling manga of same name. The episodes of Season 1 were later compiled in two theatrical movies namely "Attack on Titan – Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow" and "Attack on Titan – Part 2: Wings of Freedom."
Though Season 2 is slated to air in January 2017, the exact air date is yet to be announced by the production house.
