Inaugural Indian Super League champions Atletico de Kolkata moved to the top of the ISL 2016 points table on Friday after a comeback win against NorthEast United FC in Guwahati. The final result remained 2-1.
The Kolkata side now enter the second phase of the Indian Super League third season as the table-toppers and also get to enjoy a wonderful time with Diwali 2016 just knocking at the door.
Marquee player Helder Postiga made a return to the Indian football competition after a rib injury saw him sidelined for the previous games and he made an instant impact. After Uruguay forward Emiliano Alfaro gave the opening blood to the home team in the 38th minute and became the highest goalscorer this season with five goals, it was Portugal star Postiga who scored the equaliser in the 63rd minute.
The icing on the cake was decorated by Belencoso in the 81st minute of play after he comfortably slotted home a beautiful through ball sent in by Lalrindika Ralte. The Indian midfielder, meanwhile also remained the assist for the first goal of Atletico de Kolkata.
