At least seven people were killed when tornadoes struck in Texas. Around 55 others had to be treated for injuries in hospitals. Disaster relief efforts were directed towards Canton, 60 miles east of Dallas. A wide storm front with heavy rains and strong winds has been battering the US heartland.
