Asus has ended pre-orders for its Zenfone Max in India, selling it openly on Flipkart and Amazon India for Rs 9,999. The battery-efficient smartphone is also available in leading retail stores as well as Asus' exclusive stores.
Asus launched its 5,000mAh-battery Zenfone Max in India earlier this month, months after it's unveiling at the ZenFestival 2015 in August. The Taiwanese tech giant did not immediately make the handset available in the market, but accepted pre-orders on Flipkart and Amazon India for almost two weeks. Asus has finally ended pre-orders for the Zenfone Max and started selling the device openly online and offline stores.
Asus had promised to make the Zenfone Max openly available for Indians starting the second fortnight of January. The handset's biggest USP is its battery and the capability to transform into a power bank to charge other devices. Asus claims the Zenfone Max can run for 37.6 hours on 3G talktime or 72.9 hours on music or 22.6 hours on video playback.
It is one of the efficiently priced handsets in the market and competes against the likes of Lenovo P1m and Xiaomi Redmi 3. For Rs 9,999, the Zenfone Max features a 5.5-inch HD IPS display, a 64-bit 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC, Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB RAM. It has 16GB onboard memory, which can be expanded further using microSD card (up to 64GB).
Asus Zenfone Max has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual LED flash, laser auto focus, f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP front snapper. It runs Android Lollipop-based ZenUI 2.0 and has dual SIM slots and 4G LTE support.
Asus Zenfone Max is available in two colours — white and black — both of which can be bought at the same price.
