Asus has a lot of smartphones in the pipeline to be announced this year. The company hasn't officially confirmed any of its upcoming models, but there have been leaks and rumours confirming the testing of some smartphones. In a fresh leak, a new Asus smartphone with dual camera has been spotted, which is likely to make its debut sooner than later.
Asus X015D, which is believed to be the new Zenfone Go 2 smartphone, was spotted on China's telecommunication authority TENAA's website after receiving its certification. The handset's specs were detailed in the listing, highlighting the dual camera setup at the back, which would mean quality photos with depth-of-field view or wide-angle coverage depending on the choice of secondary lens.
Dual cameras have gained mainstream attention after brands like Apple, OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi and others utilised the setup to deliver optimum quality photos. Asus will be joining the bandwagon as consumers demand for dual cameras is slowly gaining weightage.
According to the TENAA listing, Asus X015D will feature 13MP+13MP rear-facing cameras, a 5MP front snapper, a 5.5-inch HD display, an octa-core 1.5GHz chipset, 3GB/4GB RAM options and 32GB/64GB storage. The handset will also boast a reliable 4,850mAh battery while measuring 8.85mm thick. Asus smartphone will run Android 7.0 Nougat and also feature a fingerprint scanner integrated within the home button.
Prior to this, the Zenfone Go 2 smartphone was leaked on GFXBench, where the leaked specs match that of TENAA's listing. Compared to the previous model, the new Zenfone Go 2 seems like a major step up. The original Zenfone Go featured an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front snapper.
The launch and price details of Zenfone Go 2 are still unknown. Since it has been approved by TENAA, we are likely to hear about the phone's release soon.
