If you are waiting for Asus ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 3 Deluxe to arrive this month, you could be in for a disappointment as the devices will not be released at the upcoming Computex 2016 event, which will start on May 31. The release of the ZenFone 2 successors has been pushed to next month.
It was earlier speculated that the Asus ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 3 Deluxe could be announced at a press event to be held on May 30. The Asus event is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. local time and will be livestreamed on the company's website.
Now, the company CEO, Jerry Shen, has said that the products from ZenFone 3 family will be released in June, and they will be mid-range handsets, according to DigiTimes. He went on to say that Qualcomm's processors will power 90 percent of ZenFone 3 smartphones, while 10 percent will be powered by MediaTek chip.
It is reported that the ZenFone 3 will sport a 5.5-inch screen, while the ZenFone 3 Deluxe will have a 5.9-inch screen. However, they are expected have common features like aluminium body, Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, 3GB RAM and USB Type-C ports.
GFXBench las listed two devices, one with model number Asus Z012D, which is believed to be the Asus ZenFone 3, and Asus Z010DD, which is said to be the Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe.
The Asus Z012D (Asus ZenFone 3) sports a 5.5-inch Full-HD display with 1920x1,080 pixels in the benchmarking site. It is also powered by a 1.7GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a 32GB internal memory and a 3GB RAM.
The Asus Z010DD (Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe) is spotted with a 5.9-inch HD display with 1,280x720 pixels, a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, an Adreno 405 GPU and Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. The device comes packed with a 32GB internal memory and a 2GB/3GB RAM, mounts a 12MP main camera and a 5MP front-snapper.
