It seems Asus is set to release the ZenFone 3, the successor of the ZenFone 2 that was released over a year ago. It has been reported that Asus' next-generation device will be launched on May 30.
The Chinese technology giant has announced a press event to be held on May 30, and the event is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. local time. This has sparked off speculations that the Asus ZenFone 3 could be released at the event that will be live-streamed on the company's website.
According to a report by Phone Arena, renders of the purported ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 3 Deluxe with aluminium body were leaked. The ZenFone 3 sports a 5.5-inch screen, while the Delux model has a 5.9-inch screen. The devices are expected to share features like Android 6.0 Marshmallow, 3GB RAM and USB Type-C ports.
Two devices from Asus with model number Asus Z012D and Asus Z010DD were spotted on GFXBench listing.
The Asus Z012D, which is believed to be the Asus ZenFone 3, is spotted with a 5.5-inch Full-HD display with 1920x1,080 pixels, a 1.7GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a 3GB RAM, a 32GB storage in the benchmarking site.
On the other hand, the Asus Z010DD, which is believed to be the Asus ZenFone 3, sports a 5.9-inch HD display with 1,280x720 pixels, powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, house a Adreno 405 GPU and run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
