Before the hype of Zenfone 2 dies, ASUS is all set to release its successor smartphone -- ZenFone 3 -- in the market.
Techgadgetz spotted the upcoming ASUS flagship smartphone at TENNA website.
According to PhoneArena, the ZenFone 2 successor will be a budget smartphone and is expected to impress the affordable smartphone consumers market. Unlike ZenFone 2, the upcoming model will feature two LED flash modules at the back of the phone. The ZenFone 3 features dual tone flash in a single module. The advantage of featuring two flash modules instead on one is the flashes will be able to provide more lights on the subject resulting in better low light images.
The specification featured in ZenFone 3 indicates that the new smartphone will be quite similar to the affordable variants of ZenFone 2, but will feature a smaller 5-inch display to impress the non-phablet lovers.
The ASUS ZenFone 3 will boast a 5-inch display with 720x1280 pixels resolution overlaid with Gorilla Glass 3 for added protection. Powered by an unknown 64-bit SoC (System on Chip), made of a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and Mali GPU, ASUS ZenFone 3 will be backed up by a 2GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB storage. Like other ASUS designed smartphones, the ZenFone 3 will come up with expandability support up to 32GB Micro SD cards.
On the camera side, the ZenFone 3 will feature an 8MP camera sensor at the back combined with a 5MP snapper in the front. Running on Android 5.0 Lollipop overlaid with an unknown version of ZenUI, the ZenFone 3 will support 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.
The dual SIM smartphone will be available in black, white, red, blue, purple, gold and silver colour variants. For added ruggedness, ASUS is purported to feature a metal frame for the smartphone.
Noticing the features, you can assume that the ZenFone 3 will compete with the lower end budget smartphones and is expected to be a decent replacement of ASUS's ZenFone 5. We expect the device to be available around the Asian, European and US continents.
