Taiwanese consumer electronics major Asus is scheduled to launch the company's new generation smartphone Zenfone 3 series in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The company has announced that Zenfone 3 launch programme – "Z3nvolution" will be telecast live online with 360-degree view option. The event will kick-off at 4:00 p.m. on Aug. 17.
"As a brand, we strive to bring innovative approaches to our product launches. 360-degree live streaming for Z3nvolution helps us reach our potential audience who could be located anywhere in the world. It also provides the consumers a chance to be a part of the actual live event with 360-degree visual access, guaranteeing a premium experience to every single person," Marcel Campos, marketing director – Mobile Division, Asus India, said in a statement.
Asus Zenfone 3 series was originally unveiled in late May at Computex in Taipei. It comes in three models -- a generic Zenfone 3, a top-end Zenfone 3 Deluxe and a phablet Zenfone 3 Ultra. All the specification details are in the public domain, but details in regard to price and variants the company intends to launch are yet to be ascertained.
For the uninitiated, the top-end Zenfone 3 Deluxe model bound for India is said to come with superior Snapdragon 821 SoC (System-on-Chip). It is said to be faster and 10 percent more powerful than the Snapdragon 820 processor found in current crop of flagship phones, which includes LG G5, Samsung Galaxy S7 series and HTC 10, among others.
Besides the top-notch processor, it boasts state-of-art camera hardware as well. It houses a 23MP primary camera with Sony IMX318 sensor, laser autofocus (with proprietary TriTech system), PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) with 0.03 second focusing ability, f/2.0 aperture, 4-axis optical image stabilisation, 3-axis electronic image stabilisation for steady 4K UHD video recording.
Other stipulated features of Zenfone 3 Deluxe include 6GB RAM, 256GB storage, 5.7-inch full HD display, fingerprint sensor and a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge v3.0 technology and Type C v3.0 USB port.
On the other hand, generic Asus Zenfone 3 model sports a 5.5-inch full HD super IPS LCD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass shield and houses a 14nm FinFET process technology-based Snapdragon 625 SoC (System-on-Chip) backed by 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and a 3000mAh battery.
It also boasts a fingerprint sensor and a 16MP camera with Sony IMX298 sensor, laser autofocus and LED flash on the back.
Zenfone 3 Ultra flaunts a massive 6.88-inch full HD screen and comes packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core CPU, 4GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt storage and to power the mammoth display, the company has incorporated a high-capacity 4,600mAh battery. It also features the same camera hardware as seen in the Deluxe model.
