The much-anticipated Asus Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) 4GB RAM model is all set to hit stores in India and will take on OnePlus One and Xiaomi MI4.
The Asus Zenfone 2, which is expected to be priced around ₹20,000, will be launched in India at a special event on 13 April, according to a report by Smart Prix (via GSM Arena). The report went on to claim that only 4GB RAM variant will be launched in India. However, Asus is yet to officially announce the release date of the device despite reports doing the rounds that it would come to India in April.
The Asus Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) 4GB RAM model, which was announced in January along with 2GB RAM variants - ZE550ML and ZE500CL, may come in a price range of ₹13,000 to ₹20,000.
The 16GB internal memory model is priced at TWD 6,990 (around ₹13,900, $224), 32GB variant at TWD 8,990 (around ₹17,900, $288), and 64GB model at TWD 9,990 (around ₹19,850, $320). However, the company is yet to reveal the pricing of the device in India.
The Asus Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) sports a 5.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels (403 ppi pixel density), powered by Intel Atom Z3580 processor clocking at 2.3 GHz and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. It comes packed with 16/32/64GB internal memory expandable up to another 64GB and 4GB RAM, houses a 13 MP main camera with LED flash and 5 MP front snapper, and powered by a non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAh battery.
In terms of network and connectivity, the device has 4G-LTE (Cat 4: 150/50 mbps), Wi-Fi (802.11ac), Bluetooth and dual-SIM slots. It also boasts of add-ons like ZenMotion, SnapView, Trend Micro, ZenUI Instant Updates.
The device will come in red, gray, black, white and gold colours, and will be made available on major carriers in India once it is launched. It is reported that the company will opt for open sale and not flash sale as followed by companies like Xiaomi, Lenovo, and Micromax.
