The much-awaited Asus Zenfone 2 has hit Europe a month after it was released in China but it is yet to reach Indian shore. Its release date is not confirmed but launch is imminent as Asus India has released a teaser image of the device.
Asus India posted a photo of Asus Zenfone 2 on its Facebook page on Wednesday with the caption: "It's April 1, but this flagship destroyer is for real!#Zenfone2." The photo also has "Coming Soon" written, hinting its release is not far off. It's April 1, but this flagship destroyer is for real! #Zenfone2.
According to a report by Smart Prix (via GSM Arena), Asus is planning to launch the Zenfone 2 at a special event on 13 April and that only 4GB RAM variant will be released in India. There are also reports that the device would see the light of day by the end of this month.
Asus France has confirmed the release of ZenFone 2 in France and its price in its tweet. The entry-level ZenFone 2 ZE500CL comes with price tag €179 (approximately $193 / ₹12,000), while the ZenFone 2 ZE550ML is priced €249 (approximately $268 / ₹16,700) and the top-end model ZenFone 2 ZE551ML is priced at €349 (approximately $375 / ₹23,500) though it will be available at €299 (approximately $321 / ₹20,100) as promotional offer.
According to Asus official website, ZenFone 2 ZE500CL is priced at TWD 4,990 (around ₹9,930 / $159), ZenFone 2 ZE551ML 2GB RAM/16GB memory model is priced at TWD 6,990 (around ₹13,900 / $224), the ZE551ML 4GB RAM/64GB memory model is priced at TWD 9990 (around ₹19,850 / $320), and the ZE551ML 4GB RAM/32GB memory model at TWD 8,990 (around ₹17,900 / $288).
The Asus Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) boasts of features like a 5.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels (403 ppi pixel density), Intel Atom Z3580 processor, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 16/32/64GB internal memory expandable up to another 64GB and 4GB RAM, 13 MP main camera with LED flash and 5 MP front snapper, and non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAh battery.
