The much-hyped Asus Zenfone 2 is all set to hit Indian stores on Wednesday, 15 April. It will give several mid-range smartphones currently available in Indian market a run for their money, as it boasts of good specifications, perhaps better than most devices under ₹20,000 price range.

Asus Zenfone 2 is available in three variants - ZenFone 2 ZE500CL, ZenFone 2 ZE550ML and ZenFone 2 ZE551ML – but reports have it that only ZE550ML, ZE551ML 2GB RAM, and ZE551ML 4GB models will be available in India.

Asus ZenFone 2 ZE500CL: Priced at TWD 4,990 (around ₹9,930 / $159), it is the cheapest of the three variants and comes with features like 5.0-inch HD (1280x720p) IPS screen, Atom Z2560 processor, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 16GB internal memory expandable up to 64GB, 2GB RAM, 8MP main camera and 2MP front snapper, and 2500 mAh battery.

The device will take on mid-range smartphones like Moto G 2nd Generation, Micromax Yu Yureka, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Levono A7000 etc but it is unlikely to arrive Indian stores this month.

Asus ZenFone 2 ZE550ML: Priced at TWD 5,990 (around ₹11,900 / $191), the model has features like 5.5-inch HD (1280x720p) IPS screen, Atom Quad Core Z3560, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 16GB internal memory expandable up to 64GB, 2GB RAM, 13MP main camera and 5MP front snapper, and 3000 mAh battery.

Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML: This model has two variants, one with 2GB and the other with 4GB RAM. ZE551ML 4GB RAM/64GB memory model is priced at TWD 9990 (around ₹19,850 / $320), ZE551ML 4GB RAM/32GB memory model is priced at TWD 8,990 (around ₹17,900 / $288), and ZE551ML 2GB RAM/16GB memory model is priced at TWD 6,990 (around ₹13,900 / $224).

The high-end Zenfone 2 ZE551ML variants will take on several mid-range devices like OnePlus One, Xiaomi Mi4, HTC Desire 820s, Nokia Lumia 830, Gionee Elife S7, HTC Desire 826, HTC Desire 820Q, Lenovo S90 Sisley and many more. But comparing its features with these devices, Zenfone 2 surely stands tall with good display and screen size, powerful processor, software and memory.

Zenfone 2 ZE551ML variant sports a 5.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels (403 ppi pixel density), Intel Atom Z3580 processor, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 16/32/64GB internal memory expandable up to another 64GB, 13 MP main camera with LED flash and 5 MP front snapper, and non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAh battery.
