Following the popularity of its ZenFone 2 series smartphones, ASUS has added some new devices to its portfolio. The latest unveiled ZenFone 2 products are scattered around various price points, hence pack specifications focusing the market demand with ZenFone 2 Laser being the cheapest among them.
Available in three variants -- ZE550KL (2GB RAM), ZE550KL (3GB RAM) and ZE601KL -- these devices have been rolled out between Rs 9,999 and Rs 16,999. ZenFone 2 Laser ZE550KL is the cheapest among them.
For the same price, Lenovo and Yu offer K3 Note and Yureka Plus respectively. These phones have been purchased by lakhs of consumers across the country. Let us find out which phone offers the best deals for the price.
Built and Design
All the three devices come with their distinct design language. While the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser comes with matte finished curved back design, Lenovo K3 Note comes with flat back and rounded corners. But Yu Yureka Plus looks a tad superior in competition. The official Yu YouTube channel has posted a series of videos showing how the device survives even after falling from a high altitude.

Display
ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser, Lenovo K3 Note and Yu Yureka Plus, all flaunt a 5.5-inch display but with different resolution capability. While K3 Note and Yu Yureka Plus offer 1080x1920 pixels resolution, ZenFone 2 Laser sports a bit inferior 720x1280 pixels resolution.
But in the display protection ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser leads the way by featuring Corning Gorilla Glass 4. In comparison, Yu Yureka Plus packs Gorilla Glass 3 and Lenovo K3 Note lacks the feature.
Specification
All three devices feature the same 2GB RAM and 16GB built-in storage but ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser offers higher memory expandability support (128 GB) compared to the competitors (32 GB).
But they differ while featuring the processor. Yu Yuphoria Plus packs Octa-Core Qualcomm SnapDragon 615 processor, while Lenovo K3 Note is powered by MediaTek Octa-Core processor MT6752. ASUS ZenFone 2 Selfie is powered by 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU.
We have already reviewed Lenovo K3 Note and found it a beast while testing through the benchmarking suites. In AnTuTu Benchmarking 5.7.1, Lenovo K3 Note managed to score 46,375, which is quite impressive. With the score, it beats mid-budget and flagship devices such as Xiaomi MI4, OnePlus One and ASUS ZenFone 2 ZE551ML.
In the GeekBench 3 Suite, K3 Note scored 810 in single-core and 4,049 in the multi-core test. With the Basemark OS II and 3DMark IceStorm Unlimited Benchmark, K3 Note scored 764 and 7,730.
By comparison, Xiaomi Mi 4i, which packs the same configuration as Yu Yureka Plus, scored 34,081 in Antutu, 633 single core and 2,151 multi core in GeekBench, 285 in Basemark OS II and 7,530 in 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited.
Camera
There is not much difference in these devices as far as camera specifications are concerned. All these phones house a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. However, ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser packs F/2.0 sensor of both the ends with laser auto focus and real tone flash which might help it out achieve better clicks in comparison.
We reviewed Lenovo K3 Note's camera and found it quite decent in ambient lighting. While reviewing Yureka Plus's predecessor Yu Yureka we were impressed by its performance.

Battery
ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser and Lenovo K3 Note both feature a 3,000 mAh battery, while Yureka Plus packs an inferior 2,500 mAh battery. Since all of them feature similar sized displays and RAM, there is a slight chance to get a better battery life from K3 Note and ZenFone 2 Laser.
Our Say
Yu Yureka Plus and Lenovo K3 Note both have better display and processor, while ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser packs a better camera and more expandability support. Lenovo K3 Note gets an upper hand for its bigger battery and processing capability, while Yu Yureka Plus would be the choice for a sturdy and Cyanogen running phone lover and ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser would be preferred by the camera loving consumers.
