It is reported the 5.5-inch version of ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser has received a good response in India, prompting the company to change its sales date.
Asus announced on Tuesday that the sales date of its Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5-inch variant has been rescheduled for an earlier date--8 September instead of 19 September--owing to an overwhelming response to pre-orders, reported PR Newswire.
The company announced last week that it had received 30,000 pre-orders for its Zenfone 2 Laser 5-inch and Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 versions with the latter being consumer favourite, receiving 10,000 bookings in just three days.
Peter Chang, regional head (south Asia & country manager) System Business Group, ASUS India, said they were humbled by the unprecedented response from the consumers in India.
"Being a new entrant in the market, consumers have accepted the brand with such great enthusiasm that we have to reset the sale date of our latest offering. Our endeavor has always been to 'empower luxury to everyone' and Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 is priced in a way that targets masses with its high-end features. Today, we have a reach in 660 cities through Flipkart, and we aim to achieve 5% market share in the country by next year," PR Newswire quoted Chang as saying.
The 5.5-inch version of Zenfone 2 Laser is competitively priced at Rs 9,999, which means it will have to take on devices like Meizu M2 Note, Lenovo K3 Note, Moto G and Huawei Honor 4X in the Indian market. Will it beat these devices that are priced at Rs 10,000? Only time will say this.
