Taiwanese PC maker, Asus has reportedly confirmed that the company would launch the second generation Google Nexus 7 in a few months' time in India.
Asus India Country Manager, Peter Chang while inaugurating the company's exclusive showroom in Chennai told The Hindu that, "the process for the second generation (New Nexus 7 2) is under control, and, hopefully, by our fourth quarter, we will be introducing it to India."
Chang told that the company got good returns from the first generation Nexus 7 sales in India despite delay in launch. Asus had released first generation Nexus 7 in April this year, almost eight months after its global debut in July, 2012.
Asus is the latest to join elite MNC companies such as Samsung, Nokia, Sony and others to make their devices available in India soon after their global unveiling. Emerging markets like India and China have become major business destination since the developed markets like America and Europe have saturated as the penetration of smart devices have almost reached their peak.
The second generation Nexus 7 was unveiled just a few weeks ago. It is already available in North America (USA & Canada) and would be hitting Europe markets by this month end, whereas Indians can expect the new Nexus 7 tablet to hit the stores probably during Christmas holidays or even sooner because Nexus device co-developer, Google has already listed Nexus 7 2 on its official online store 'Google Play' with a tag line 'Coming Soon'.
The new Nexus tablet claimed to boast of the world's highest display resolutions in its class (7.0-inch devices). It sports an IPS LCD screen with full HD 1080x1920p display resolution having pixel density of 323 ppi (pixels per inch) and runs on the latest Android mobile OS v4.3 Jelly Bean powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor with CPU speed of 1.5GHz.
