Building the hype around its anticipated mystery smartphone, ASUS has sent another teaser mail to selective media folks. Though ASUS haven't mentioned anything more about the upcoming device, it has dropped enough hints that the upcoming device would be a budget smartphone.
Today's teaser mail reads as "The upcoming event by ASUS will showcase ultimate design, performance & photography experience. The company will soon bring a device which is perfect from inside & outside; complementing your style."
The teaser gives enough hints that it might launch something similar to ASUS ZenFone Selfie, which features an impressive design, decent performance and focused towards photography enthusiasts.
Launched at Computex, 2015 event at Taipei, ZenFone Selfie offers a decent build quality and is available in several colour options including Chic Pink, Aqua Blue, Pure White, Glamour Red, Osmium Black and Sheer Gold.
The ZenFone device boasts a 5.5-inch display with TruVivid Technology and offers 1,080x1,920 pixel resolution. Powered by a Snapdragon 615 SoC, the ZenFone Selfie offers two RAM and storage variants. The 2GB RAM edition come with 16GB storage, while the 3GB RAM edition pairs 32GB of storage. Running on Android 5.0 Lollipop, the device features a 3,000mAh battery.
ZenFone Selfie will have 13mp rear and front cameras, hence justifying the name it has been given. With an aperture of f/2.2, the front camera would be decent enough to impress the selfie aficionados.
Ensuring the success, ASUS has included ZenUI Beautification mode, a feature for enhancing live digital cosmetics. It also has Selfie Panorama mode, which exploits ZenFone Selfie's f/2.2-aperture front lens and 88-degree field of view to capture panoramic selfies of up to 140 degrees. The front sensor features 24mm wide angle, 5-prism Largan lens and Toshiba 1/3.2-inch sensor.
Apart from featuring the huge front-camera sensor, ASUS has also added a new feature for better and accurate focusing on the images. Dubbed as Laser Auto-Focus, the feature uses a laser beam for clicking quick pictures even under challenging lighting conditions.
