Taiwanese consumer electronics company Asus is reportedly planning to unveil two new Zenfone 2 series smartphones next week.
The company's CEO Jerry Shen, in an interview with DigiTimes, has confirmed that Zenfone Zoom and Zenfone Max will be launched at the Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA) 2015, which is scheduled to kick-off on 4 September.
Shen also talked about the company's vision for 2016. Asus is said to give prominence to 5.5-inch based devices and accordingly, the company will launch two new models of Zenfone 2 Deluxe and Zenfone Laser each and one new variant each of Zenfone Selfie and Zenfone Max. The budget variant Zenfone Go will also be succeeded by two new models next year.
Zenfone Zoom and Zenfone Max were showcased at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2015, Las Vegas and the recently concluded ZenFestival 2015, New Delhi. However, the release date, price and details of features were kept under wraps. Now with the announcement, both the smartphones will finally hit stores in a few weeks.
Asus Zenfone Zoom:
As the name suggests, Zenfone Zoom's main USP is its camera. It boasts of a feature-rich 13mp camera with an OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), 3X optical zoom, 10-element lens that can add 12X digital zoom for finer close-up details. It also features the laser auto-focus technology, which is seen in the flagship LG G4.
Asus Zenfone Max:
The Zenfone Max comes packed with a massive 5000 mAh battery, enabling the use of the phone for more than a day.
Other stipulated features include HD display with Gorilla Glass 4, Snapdragon 410 CPU, 2GB RAM, 4G-LTE support, dual-SIM slots, 13mp camera with PixelMaster technology, Dual-LED Real Tone flash, laser auto-focus and a 5mp camera with wide-angle field of view.
