Taiwanese PC maker Asus launched the Asus Fonepad 7 dual SIM tablet in India, with a price tag of ₹12,999.
The tablet, which was first unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) at Barcelona earlier this year, sports a 7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels and is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core Intel 'Clover Trail+' Atom Z2520 processor, coupled with 1GB RAM. The dual SIM tablet packs 8GB internal storage, which is further expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. The tablet measures 199.5x120.8x11.35mm and weighs 340 grams.
On the software front, the tablet runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS and comes equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. The connectivity features of the tablet include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, EDGE, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, Micro-USB and 3G (HSPA+). It comes loaded with a 3910mAh battery, which claims to deliver a life of 10 hours. The tablet will come in grey and white colour options.
Asus also retails a single SIM variant of the Asus Fonepad 7 tablet in India at ₹17,499. It sports a 7.0-inch IPS backlit HD WXGA screen with 1280x800p resolution, houses a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB (with microSD card support) and a high-capacity 3950 mAh Li-Polymer battery.
