Popular Taiwanese PC maker, Asus, has launched a new series of voice-calling tablet, dubbed as Fonepad 7 2014, in India.
As the name suggests, Asus Fonepad 7 tablet sports a 7.0-inch TN panel-based screen with 1,024x600 p resolution and ships with Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS (upgradable up to v4.4 KitKat), 1.2GHz dual-core INTEL Clover Trail Plus Z2520 CPU, sumptuous 1GB RAM and 4GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 64GB).
It also has a 2.0-megapixel main camera, VGA front camera for video-chatting, long-lasting 3,950 mAh battery and on the connectivity front, it boasts 3G network support, dual-SIM, voice-calling feature, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and GPS.
As of now, Asus Fonepad 7 (2014 FE170CG) has been made available across India for just ₹8,999. Interested consumers can also purchase online at Flipkart for the same price.

The new Asus Fonepad 7 will be competing with the Micromax Funbook series, iBall 3G17 Tablet series, HCL ME Tablet Connect series, Lenovo Idea Tab A1000 and Dell Venue 7.
Besides Asus Fonepad 7 (2014 FE170CG), the company also sells higher-end Fonepad 7 models and also the popular Google Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013 editions). They boast better display, inbuilt-storage and camera specifications.
