After months of delay, Taiwanese consumer electronics major Asus has finally announced the Android Marshmallow update schedule for select Zenfone series phones.
The company confirmed that ZenFone 2 (ZE550ML, ZE551ML), ZenFone 2 Deluxe (ZE551ML), ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE500KL, ZE550KL, ZE601KL), ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL), ZenFone Max (ZC550KL) and ZenFone Zoom (ZX551ML) will receive the v6.0 Marshmallow later this month.
Asus, without specifying the smartphone models, has promised to commence the second phase of update release process in April.
It has also been learnt that the Google Messenger, Calendar, and Gmail apps will automatically replace three ZenUI app -- ASUS Messenger, ASUS Mail and ASUS Calendar -- as the default apps in the Android M update.

Android Marshmallow also brings the Doze power saving feature, which has been incorporated to extend battery life by at least 30 percent depending on the device's internal hardware.

Other notable features include leaner and faster Chrome browser, more intuitive Now on Tap feature, new security feature verified boot system, support for more international languages, new contextual assistance feature, Google photos and auto back-up from where all app's user data (less than 25MB) will automatically be stored in Google Drive.
