Celebrating a decade of gaming innovation, Asus has got eight new additions to its Republic of Gamers (ROG) line of products. The line, which already includes gaming devices and peripherals, has a new laptop, a new desktop and a new motherboard, among others joining its ranks.
Asus also unveiled the ROG Avalon, a gaming PC platform that allows users greater flexibility when it comes to building their own gaming rigs. The PC is a proof of concept and is reported to have re-imagined the way in which gaming PCs are designed.
"By rethinking the limits of the ATX form-factor and redesigning the motherboard and case as a single entity, rather than as two items in tandem, we were able to optimize the layout to alleviate the most frustrating parts of the DIY process," the company said in a statement.
The ROG Avalon features SSD and graphics adaptor boards and requires no internal cabling.
In addition, Asus also pulled the wraps off the Rampage V Edition 10 gaming motherboard. The flagship motherboard under the Republic of Gamers line, the Rampage V Edition 10, is reportedly built around Intel's X99 chipset optimised for the Core i7 line of processors. The motherboard also features a customisable RGB lighting scheme.
Other additions include the ROG Swift PG248Q full-HD gaming monitor, the ROG Centurion, a gaming headset that leverages its 10-driver design to offer 7.1-channel surround sound, the ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card.
Asus also refreshed its G31 and GX800 series of desktops and laptops, respectively. The ROG G31 10th anniversary edition laptop also received a Computex d&i Award at Computex 2016 on Tuesday, May 31.
Asus' Republic of Gamers devices like the ROG Claymore gaming keyboard and the ROG GT51 gaming desktop were awarded the Computex d&i Award and the Best Choice Award and Computex d&i Award at Computex.
