Taiwanese company Asus, after the overwhelming success of its Google Nexus 7 tablet sales in India, is now all set to launch its latest tablet PC, Fonepad, in the sub-continent.
Asus on Tuesday released a teaser-image of a tablet, alleged to be Fonepad, on its official Facebook and Twitter pages with a tagline "meet the new family member". The snapshot only shows the back panel of the tablet and the ad does not give out any details regarding the launch date or price.
Asus had first unveiled Fonepad at Mobile World Congress in February. The device went on sale in Europe only a few days ago and it is likely that it will reach Indian shores soon.
The new Asus tablet sports a 7.0-inch 10-point multi-touch screen with IPS display technology and it runs on Android mobile OS v4.1 Jelly Bean backed by an Intel Atom based processor with 1.2GHz CPU speed.
