Following the problematic launch of Ubisoft's new gaming title, Assassin's Creed Unity, where it was discovered that some of the characters went faceless, other issues such as framerate have cropped up.
Reports have termed the Game Crashing bug as the biggest among the issues players faced, as it affects the game leading it to crash after players hit the 'Continue' button in the main menu. This has affected players on all the platforms.
Ubisoft has taken cognisance of the issue and has posted a workaround for the issue on its official Community page. It also added that, "The team is working hard on a fix for those players that have been affected by this."
Ubisoft has asked players to delete all the in-game contacts in Unity. Below is the workaround from the company.
- Do not add any IN-GAME RECENT PLAYER as a GAME CONTACT
- If you already have GAME CONTACTS, perform the following to remove them:
My Brotherhood > My Contacts > Game Contacts (using RB/R1) > Focus on a Contact (LS) > More Actions (Y/Triangle) > Remove from contacts.
The company said that the above fix will add as a preventive measure against the Game Crashing bug. However, it also added that post this workaround, if players experience the issue, they need to file a ticket with Ubisoft Support.
Unlock Guide for Blue Nomad Chests
Players who are looking out for ways to complete their maps or have been tempted for that extra treasure, try to find the blue Nomad chests that have been littered across Paris. But the problem is that it is not clear on how to open these chests.
Unity's Companion App is one requirement for opening the blue Nomad chests. VG247 has released a guide that helps players open the blue Nomad chests.
Warning: The report warns players that using the Assassin's Creed: Unity Companion App starting 2 November, 2014 will be putting players at the rise of save game wipes. So players can leave this and wait until they have finished the rest.
Unity's Companion App
If players want the game's protagonist Arno to open the chests, it must be clear that they can do this only by using the Assassin's Creed: Unity Companion App.
But in the case of players not having the app and the game is synched as the play continues, players will be able to collect the treasure from the chests, 24 hours later but they have to send a recruit to collect it.
Players have also been warned that they should not finish the missions while the app is being used.
Step 1: In order to open the blue Nomad chests, players have to download the Companion App from the App Store or Google Play.
Step 2: They have to Synch it with Assassin's Creed: Unity save game.
Step 3: In order to synch it, they will have to log into Uplay, both in the app and in the game.
How to go about? Below is the manner to make the app take players to the chests:
- Unlock glyph puzzles
- Solve glyph puzzles
- Send Assassins on missions
- Collect chests
Glyph Puzzles - How to Unlock and Solve
The first thing players will have to do after they start using the app is to unlock and solve these Glyph puzzles. These are unlocked by synchronising viewpoints in the game.
Start right up by solving after the Glyph puzzle is unlocked. Players have to load the puzzle and then tap the screen if they want to release a concentric circle of Eagle Vision.
Doing this will allow the Glyphs to be highlighted, players need to tap it before it disappears. Players are advised to rotate the structure and look on top. They have to make sure that they have checked all the sides.
Given the limitation on the usage of Eagle Vision for every attempt being made to solve the puzzle, players can retry the position of discovered Glyphs by constantly plugging away until they solve it. Players will not need to spend their points (on continues), if they can remember the locations.
Sending Assassin's on Missions
Every viewpoint will consist of three Glyph puzzles. Each puzzle will unlock a mission to the players and these missions will have three checkpoints.
The completion of a mission needs patience as some require players to send in one or more Assassin's to complete it. It is to be noted that every mission that comes up will need different amount of attack, defence and stealth. So, players will have to weigh which Assassin fits the assignment by looking at the skills. Players will not be able to use Assassin's who are already on a mission.
Every mission completion will fetch these Assassins XP that can be used for various purposes when they level up - from using it to increase the attributes of the Assassins to recruiting powerful Assassins to healing them post-mission.
Players need to choose powerful Assassin's since their attributes can be upgraded multiple times. They should not be stuck doing basic missions multiple times, as Assassins take time to level up. It is better for player using the Companion App's free version to dismiss some of the low-level Assassins and go in for the powerful ones, since the app will support only a small number of them.
In the case of layers running out of points that are needed for recruiting Assassin's, they can earn some points by purchasing social clubs in the game. Such purchases will generate points in the app. Players who assign an Assassin to the club will be able to increase their earnings. Players can do this when they log out after a session.
Unlocking the Nomad chests
Following the successful completion of the third checkpoint in the mission, players will be informed via a notification about the opening of the chest. Players will have to either send Arno or an Assassin to collect the treasure.
However, if players are not playing Arno at that moment, they will not be able to open it. But if they are playing him, they can drop a waypoint on the chest via App which is easily trackable tin Unity.
