Dipannita Sharma, who has been nominated for the Best Actress for an Assamese film 'Xhoixobote Dhelamite' (Rainbow fields), will be present at the Love International film festival (LIFF).
"I'm glad at being nominated for Best Actress. This is my first nomination for best actress after winning in the Best Supporting Actress category. What makes it so special is that it happens to be at an International film festival for my first feature film in my native language, Assamese," she said in a statement.
It will also be Dipannita's international red carpet debut. She said she will be wearing a Mekhela Sador, representing her state and country on a global platform.
Director Bidyut Kotoky's 'Xhoixobote Dhelamite' is making waves across the festival circuit and managed to bag 8 nominations including Best Feature, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor (Nakul Vaid), Best Actress (Dipannita Sharma), Best Supporting Actor (Victor Bannerjee), Best Cinematography (Satya Prakash Rath) and Best Score (Anurag Saikia) at LIFF 2018.
The semi-autobiographical film takes events from director Kotoky's life and is based in the psychological trauma that children in Assam went through during the agitation in the 1980s.
'Xhoixobote Dhelamite' is produced by India Stories, a Mumbai-based production house, and co-produced by Kotoky's Dhruv Creative Productions and Kurmasana Kreates, a US-based production house.
