Assamese film Xhoixobote Dhelamite won three awards, including Best Actress award for Dipannita Sharma, out of eight nominations at Love International Film Festival (LIFF).
This is her first international award and it could not be more special since its an Assamese film, Dipannita's native language, that got her the honour.
"This is my first international award and I am so glad that the film has won best feature film and for best score as well. Xhoixobote Dhelamite is a special film and it deserves all the appreciation coming its way. The fact that I won best actress for an Assamese film is what makes it all the more special," Dipannita, who was present at the festival representing the film said.
The semi-autobiographical film takes events from director Kotoky's life and is based on the psychological trauma that children in Assam went through during the agitation in the 1980s.
