A woman reportedly chopped off a man's penis when he had allegedly tried to rape her. The incident happened in Nagaon district, Assam.
According to a report on Time8, the man identified as Kasem Ali had attempted to rape the woman when she was alone at her home. The accused allegedly entered her house and had forced himself on her.
In an attempt to save herself from Ali, the woman reportedly managed to grab a machete and chopped off the man's penis.
Hearing the commotion coming from inside the house, locals intervened and caught hold of the accused. He was later handed over to the police. Ali is now undertaking treatment at Nagaon Civil Hospital.
Rapes and other acts of violence on women have been a major cause of concern in India. Despite strict laws to fight the menace, several cases of rape are reported on a daily basis across the country.
