The first-look poster of Asif Ali's upcoming Malayalam comedy thriller Honey Bee 2 Celebrations, which is the sequel of its 2013 movie Honey Bee, was unveiled by the actor via his Facebook page on Tuesday, November 15.
The poster features Bhavana, Asif Ali, Baburaj, Balu Varghese and Sreenath Bhasi, who also played the lead roles in the first instalment of the movie. The comedy entertainer, which is the directorial venture of Jean Paul Lal, son of actor Lal, is the third full length movie of the filmmaker, who is known as Lal Jr.
Honey Bee revolves around two friends, Sebastian (Asif) and Angel (Bhavana), who elope on the eve of Angel's marriage after realising that they are in love. How the lovers struggle for survival, along with their close friends, and resist the girl's brothers is narrated in the film. The movie, which was tagged as a new generation film, opened to a mixed response from the audience. However, it was said to be a commercially successful movie that urged the team to come up with its sequel.
The sequel is being bankrolled by Lal under the banner of Lal Creations, in association with Evolutions Cinemas. The Asif-starrer, which also features Sreenivasan and Lena in significant roles, has been scheduled to hit the screens in February 2017.
Meanwhile, Asif, who was last seen in the comedy entertainer Kavi Uddheshichathu..?, has a handful of projects in his kitty, including Avarude Raavukal, Thrissivaperoor Kliptham and Adventures Of Omanakuttan.
