There's been a lot of buzz surrounding "Asia's Next Top Model" Cycle 5 and fans are eager to find out who will be part of the judges panel when the show returns for its latest instalment. So far, there has been no update or confirmation from the show's producers, but many seem to think that Miss Universe 2015 winner Pia Wurtzbach will be the host of the "Asia's Next Top Model" Cycle 5. However, the latest on this rumour suggests that it's a hoax.
According to Yahoo Singapore, Esther Swan, the Director of Talent Department for Miss Universe, denied Wurtzbach's involvement in "Asia's Next Top Model." Swan added that it would be 'great' if the Filipina model joined as part of the show's cast.
However, she mentioned, "All inquiries and requests for Miss Universe appearances and bookings are sent for my attention... but I have not received an invitation for consideration." As the Miss Universe 2015 winner, Wurtzbach is still enjoying her period of reign which will end in December 2016.
Earlier, a mysterious post on "Asia's Next Top Model," which included a picture of Wurtzbach, had claimed that she will host the reality show's latest instalment, Cycle 5. This post sparked interest among fans after Wurtzbach herself tweeted that she's excited about the new things to come.
Fans believed that the Filipina model would replace Cindy Bishop as the host and head judge. If Wurtzbach were to join "Asia's Next Top Model," she would have been the first Miss Universe contestant to do so. "Asia's Next Top Model" is hugely popular in the Philippines and many Filipina models have found a place among the top 5.
In "Asia's Next Top Model" Cycle 4, Julian Flores was among the top 4 contestants and had a huge fan following. In the end, she was asked to leave as the judges found her photos lacking in personality.
So far, a premiere date for "Asia's Next Top Model" Cycle 5 hasn't been revealed.
