The latest teaser of "Ash vs Evil Dead" Season 2 is out, revealing that the next instalment of Starz's comedy horror series has got all the elements for which the cult franchise is known: blood, violence, glory, carnage and guts.
The teaser showcases the protagonist of the series, Ash (Bruce Campbell), accompanied by his loyal companions Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo). The trio can be seen butchering a horde of Deadites while Ash still finds spare time to have some "fun."
The teaser is composed in the typical fast-paced style of Sam Raimi, where scene transitions happen almost immediately. Ash can be seen gearing up with his iconic chainsaw at the beginning of the teaser and afterwards, it is total mayhem as he goes on a killing spree, spilling blood like water. As is with his character, Ash looks visibly pleased and satisfied with all the gore in the footage.
"Ash vs Evil Dead" Season 2 will pick up straight from where the Season 1 finale, titled "The Dark One," concluded. In the episode, Ash manages to defeat a Deadite-turned Amanda (Jill Marie Jones). However, he was confronted by Ruby (Lucy Lawless) who made a deal with him.
As a result, Ash and his friends were allowed to leave but due to Ash's poor judgement, several mysterious activities began to happen around the world, including appearance of large sinkholes.
The synopsis of "Ash vs Evil Dead," as stated by Comic Book, reads:
"'Ash vs Evil Dead' follows Ash, the stock boy, ageing lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons — personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its 'Evil' grip."
