Prominent members of the Tamil film industry - Suriya, Maniratnam, KV Anand, Vairamuthu and singer Vijay Prakash, were also present at the event.
The trailer of "Irandam Ulagam" has given a glimpse of what to expect from the film. The 2-minute and 35-second trailer starts with a question: "How far will you travel for love?"
The trailer claims that the film has one story that spans two worlds. After "Aayirathil Oruvan", Selvaraghavan is back with some visual effects in "Irandam Ulagam", which is deemed as a fantasy thriller. Some odd-looking animals, including the ones similar to those creatures that appeared in Hollywood film "Avatar", are shown in the film. This will definely kindle the curiosity of viewers.
Arya appears in two different looks in the film. In one of his looks, the actor is bespectacled and looks modern. His other makeover shows him with a great physique and long hair.
Leading lady Anushka looks simple and beautiful in her costumes. Both actors appear to have put in a lot of effort to perform stunt scenes.
Within a few hours of its release, the trailer has taken the internet by storm. More than 8,000 people have viewed the trailer in less than a day.
"Irandam Ulagam", produced by Prasad V Potluri under the PVP cinema banner, is expected to have a grand worldwide release in September.
The Telugu dubbed version of the film titled "Varna" is likely to have a simultaneous release with the Tamil version.
