There has been a lot of speculations around Golden Star Ganesh's 25th film "Buguri" of late, and the latest news is that model-turned-actress Arundathi will play the film's female lead.
The film, directed by MD Shridhar, had actress Vedhika Kumar in the lead role at first but she backed out later because of date clash issues.
Arundathi, who made her acting debut in 2010 with Kannada film "Kolminchu", went on do many Tamil and Kannada films. But unfortunately for her, most of her films failed to make a mark in the industry.
And the role in "Buguri" opposite Ganesh is now expected to be a turning point in her career.
"I am excited because the opportunity came to me unexpectedly. The director saw my pictures and went through my career profile. He along with the PRO came to Chennai and they got the agreement sorted out. I guess it happened because of god's blessings, as I was told to do a pooja at home and that is when the director arrived to confirm my role," Arundathi told The New Indian Express.
The actress is currently busy with the promotions of her Tamil action adventure comedy "Netru Indru", directed by Padmamagan. The film also features Prassanna, Vimal, Richard Rishi and Bharani.
Arundathi has also bagged roles in three other Tamil films, named "Thottal Thodarum", "Naaigal Jaakirathai" and "Vetri". She is expected to join the sets of "Buguri" by 21 June.
Expectations on "Buguri" are high. Shridhar's last film "Bulbul" - a remake of Telugu film "Darling" - was a super hit. The film had Darshan, Ambarish and Rachitha Ram in the lead roles.
This is the third time that Shridhar and Ganesh have joined together for a film. Ganesh's debut film "Chellata" was directed by Shridhar, while their second togther "Krishna", also starring Pooja Gandhi and Sharmila Mandre, was a hit.
The actor-director duo reunite through "Buguri" after a gap of six years. The film is also scripted and produced by Sridhar. The music is done by Mickey J Meyer.
