Samsung's upcoming flagship compact variant Galaxy S5 Mini reportedly features water-resistant body.
The news was accidently revealed by the Samsung New Zealand. The company's official product support website detailing the warranty information of the Samsung's water-proof devices had named the yet-to-be released Galaxy S5 Mini along with Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4 Active.
Once the word got out in the media, Samsung pulled the name of Galaxy S5 Mini out of the website, but by then, technology blog, BGR had taken the screen shot of the web-page.[To view the page, click here]. Samsung is yet to respond to the speculations.
Earlier this month, Galaxy S5 Mini key specifications surfaced online. It is said that the upcoming phone will flaunt a 4.5-inch super AMOLED HD display and run on the latest Android v4.4 KitKat powered by a Qualcomm chipset, probably a Snapdragon 400 series CPU.
Galaxy S5 Mini is also expected to house a 1.5GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage, 8.0-megapixel main camera, 2.0-megapixel snapper on the front, IR blaster (smart TV remote control feature) and 2,100 mAh battery.
Galaxy S5 and the 2013's flagship rugged model Galaxy S4 Active boasts IP67 (Ingress Protection) ratings, which certifies that devices can work 1-metre under-water for 30 minutes. If the above report turns out to be true, Galaxy S5 Mini will truly personify the title compact flagship phone, unlike its predecessor Galaxy S4 Mini, whose featured specification were toned down heavily compared to its original sibling Galaxy S4.
If sources of SamMobile are to be believed, the rumored Galaxy S5 Mini is expected to make its debut in June. Even Galaxy S4 Mini too got launched around same time last year.
Besides Galaxy S5 compact variant, Samsung is also slated to launch a camera-centric variant model Galaxy K (aka S5 Zoom) next week (29 April at Singapore, to be precise). It is said to sport a 4.8-inch HD (720p) display, run on the latest android v4.4 KitKat, 1.6GHz quad-core processor/ Hexa-core CPU, 2GB RAM, 20-megapixel camera with 10 X zoom.
It also said that the new camera phone will be compact and slimmer than the bulky predecessor, Galaxy S4 Zoom, which had protractible lens forming an awkward bump on the rear-side.
