Micromax Canvas Duet 2 EG-111 Tipped to be Launched This Week; Specifications Leak Online

Popular indigenous smartphone maker, Micromax is reportedly planning to launch a new mid-range phone Canvas Duet 2 EG-111s soon.

Mumbai based smartphone vendor, Manish Khatri has claimed that the Micromax would launch a new handset, Canvas Duet 2 EG-111 by the end of this week.

"New arrival : #MICROMAX DUET 2 , EG-111. [ GSM/ CDMA ] ₹ 15790/- only . Quad Core processor. 5.3" HD Display. (Stocks in2 days)", he tweeted.

Within hours of him posting the message, a technology community blog, Micromax Canvas citing a source revealed the few more key features of the same device.

According to the tipster, Micromax Duet 2 would flaunt a 5.27-inch HD IPS display, dual-SIM (CDMA+GSM) slots, Android v4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB inbuilt storage, 8.0-megapixel primary camera, 2.0-megapixel front camera and 2300 mAh battery.

Word on the street is that Micromax is also prepping another handset dubbed as Canvas Power A96 with a high capacity 4000 mAh battery capable of giving back up to 400 hours under standby mode and close to 13.5 hours of talk time.

It is also said to boast of a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB inbuilt memory, 5.0-megapixel camera and a VGA camera on the front, reported Micromax Canvas

Going by the features of both the smartphones, Micromax placed second in the Indian market, can use Canvas Duet 2 and Canvas Power to offset the surging popularity of the recently launched MNC branded Motorola Moto G and also stem the lead of the chart topper Samsung which also recently (in January) released a similar mid-range phone Galaxy Grand 2 in India.
