Chinese smartphone maker, Gionee has launched a feature-rich budget smartphone Pioneer P3 in India.
The new budget phone sports a 4.3-inch WVGA (800x480p) display and runs on the Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 512MB RAM, 4GB inbuilt storage on board with options of expansion up to 32B via microSD card.
Gionee Pioneer P3 also boasts of 5.0-megapixel main camera, a VGA camera on the front, 3G network connectivity, dual-SIM slot, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS for navigation, a 1700mAh battery capable of giving backup for 8-12 hours of talk time and close to 10-12 days in standby mode.
According to reports, the phone is expected to hit shelves (both online and local retail stores) in few days time for ₹7,499. Once released, Pioneer P3 will compete with local players such as Micromax Canvas Viva, Canvas 3D A115, Karbonn Smart A27+, as well as with MNC brands Nokia Lumia 520, Sony Xperia E, Samsung Galaxy Music Duos and more.
In related news, Gionee is also prepping to launch the flagship phablet Elife E7 in the Indian market next month (January 2014). It sports a 5.5 inch screen boasting OGS (One Glass Solution) display technology and ships with the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean with custom UI Amigo v2.0 on top of the primary OS and pack 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 series CPU with Adreno 330 graphics engine, 16.0-megapixel camera and 8.0-megapixel front-facing camera, and 2500 mAh battery.
