South Korean electronics firm Samsung is reportedly planning to launch a dual-screen foldable smartphone in India, later this month.
Samsung community website, SamMobile, has confirmed that the company will soon release a flip-phone codenamed GT-19230 in a few Asian countries, including India.
The upcoming phone will run on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean (with Touch-WIZ Nature UI) and has cleared Wi-Fi and Bluetooth certifications, said a latest blog post on SamMobile.
The device reportedly boasts of a 3.7-inch twin WVGA LCD screens having 480x800p resolution. It measure 59.5 mm wide, 118 mm tall, 15.8 mm thick and is said to weigh 179 g.
Other expected features include A-GPS + GLONASS, microSD slot (up to 64GB), HSPA+ 21.1 Mbps, HSUPA 5.29 Mbps and a 3.5 mm plug-in port.
However, it is not yet known if GT-19230 will be a quad-core like Galaxy Hennessy (SCH-W789) or a dual-core device like Galaxy Golden (SHV-E400S), which have already been released in select Asian markets.
Rumour has it that Samsung will launch a new smartphone with bendable plastic OLED based screen later this month. Many believe it to be the rugged version of Galaxy Note 3 Active.
